Two names. Nora Ephron.
One description. Powerhouse. When news of her death broke more than a month ago…I was surprised to learn that she was the thinker behind one of my favorite films “Julie & Julia” and a number of other major projects. The more stories I saw about Nora Ephron…the more intrigued I became with Nora Ephron. Her career spanned over five decades. Ephron held positions as a groundbreaking journalist, essayist, playwright, screenwriter, novelist, producer and director.
I’d also like to add another title to that long list: teacher. Nora Ephron was a masterfully effective teacher. She imparted wisdom on the world. Ephron demonstrated that women can and should be fearless. For fellow journalists…Ephron educated them on how to tell compelling stories. Ephron showed the world the importance of humor. She gave her fans a lesson in courage…the courage to tell their heart-wrenching stories…meaningful stories that uplift and inspire. Ephron is a stellar example of how an individual can successfully start in one field, segue into a new industry, work in several capacities, and become a pioneer.
